… the Festival of Romance 2012 awards
What a moment it was to see my name appear TWICE on the list of those shortlisted for The Festival of Romance 2012 awards! It was a huge thrill (understatement!!).
I’ve been shortlisted for:
Best Historical Read Award
The Road Back
Best Romantic Ebook Read Award
Evie Undercover
You can read all the shortlists here. I was delighted to see that fellow Choc Lit authors Christina Courtenay, Jane Lovering, and Sue Moorcroft are on the shortlists in various categories, and that my wonderful publishing company, Choc Lit, has also received two nominations.
The results will be announced on FRIDAY, 16th November, at the FESTIVAL GALA DINNER in Bedford.
But the Gala Dinner is only the first of a weekend full of fun events. Hopefully, many of you will already have your tickets for the occasion. Others of you, if you haven’t and you live in the area, do come along and say hello.
Click here for the full Festival programme.
I shall be at the Festival from the 16th November until the evening of the 18th.
On SATURDAY, from 10.30am, I shall be on the Choc Lit stand at the ROMANCE FAIR (free event), and also helping to keep an eye on the RNA stand which will be next to the Choc Lit stand.
Between 11 and 11.30am, I shall join the READATHON at the Harpur Centre (next to the Mills & Boon promotion), during which I shall be reading an extract from The Road Back. Then it’s back to the Choc Lit stand.
On SUNDAY afternoon, from 3.30 to 5pm, you can join me for a traditional afternoon tea with scones and cakes at the MEET THE AUTHORS for an HISTORICAL AFTERNOON TEA at the Park Inn, Bedford (Tickets: £12.50 includes afternoon tea)
It would be really lovely to see you in Bedford. Do come along if you can.
And now to turn my mind to the all-important question – what to wear on Friday!!!
Congratulations on your two shortlistings and I look forward to seeing you on Friday.

Many thanks, Katy. I look forward to seeing you, too. It’s been an age since we said hello in person. Thank goodness for twitter!
Wishing you all the best with the shortlistings, Liz! x
Many thanks, Mandy. I don’t expect to win – I’ve seen the competition – but I’m just thrilled to have made the lists.
Looking forward to Friday evening and fingers crossed for you all. I love The Road Backxx
Carol, Sarah – many thanks to you both for your congratulations/good wishes. I’m focusing on seeing lots of friends in Bedford this weekend, and trying not to think of the awful moment when you wait to hear which name is called. There are so many people going whom I look forward to seeing again that I have plenty to good things to focus upon.
Congratulations, Liz! X
Congratulations, Liz. And to all the others too. Can’t wait to hear about the Festival of Romance event. I hope you will be reporting back. x
Many thanks for your comment, Emma. I shall definitely be reporting back – with pics!
Congratulations on being shortlisted Liz. Can’t wait to see your post on The Festival of Romance. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow at the RNA Winter Party!
It was wonderful chatting to you Liz, I had a wonderful time and as I’m not going to the winter party (boohoo) doubly welcome to be in Bedford at the weekend. I’ve only just surfaced but felt inspired in all sorts of ways. Enjoy the party!
